The Inconvenient Truth About Convenience
I just watched a video online of a high school classroom from 1999. There were no smartphones, no AI - just people talking, laughing, and doodling on paper. They seemed so relaxed. What struck me most were the comments; most people were wondering how anyone survived without the convenient technology we have today.
I’m not going to lie, I use these tools heavily too. I’ll probably use AI to iron out my mediocre English and polish this very post. But the problem I have with this new era of convenience is the steep price that comes with it.
And honestly, where to start? The massive amount of ads filling every corner of our consciousness? The paywall standing behind the paywall of a product you already bought? The personal data being traded like currency?
Let's skip all that and move to the most important bit, in my humble opinion. If all these tools are so convenient, why are our lives getting more stressful? Instead of enjoying the free time our inventions created, we surrendered that time right back to the devices. The daily mental toll speaks for itself.
So, we’re going to try something different. BRBack will do its best to be a tool that doesn't occupy your free space, consume your personal data, or intrude on your comfort zone. We want to build something that simply makes things easier, while reminding you of what’s actually important… You. Like those kids back in ‘99, who seemed to have it all figured out.
Here’s to us trying…
